Video Teleconference

Stay in touch with your deployed military member via Video Teleconference

The Borden Family Resource Centre is very pleased to announce a new service which is now available to immediate families of deployed CF members. This service is the video teleconferencing system commonly called VTC. This system allows you to converse with, share with and see the deployed member in Afghanistan online for a period of 30 minutes. This is a great opportunity to speak directly with your loved one while he/she is deployed and in operational theatre.

Video teleconferences is available in a cozy private setting in the Borden Family Resource Centre. For more information, please contact Marie-Claude Bergeron at 424-1200 extension 3498.

Please note that the deployed member must follow the procedures in the theatre of operations to initiate the reservation booking. Marie-Claude Bergeron will then confirm the reservation with you. Please note that there is a delay from the time of the request for a video teleconference until confirmation (date and time, keeping in mind the time difference of 9 and a half + hours).

Volunteers Needed For Special Events!

Coping with day-to-day responsibilities can be challenging at the best of times, but when a family member is deployed it can be even more difficult. The Borden Family Resource Centre is seeking community minded individuals to provide assistance in planning and implementing special events for the families of deployed members.  We need you to make these events successful!  Whether you have an hour a week or several, your input and assistance would be welcome.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in being involved with, please contact Deborah, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at 424-1200 extension 1579.
